Vlicho (Vlycho) is a small village of Lefkada Island, located on the east coast, just a few kilometers away from the southern side of Nidri. The houses of the Vlycho were built in a narrow area, where the slopes of the mountains and the sea meet.
The main road of the east coast, which leads between the capital of Lefkada and Vasiliki, passes through the village – literally everyone drive through Vlicho, who travel by car or by scooter on the east coastline of the island.
In front of the village, which is known also as Vlycho or Βλυχό in Greek language, you can see the hills of Yenion peninsula, and a shallow lagoon.

What to find in Vlicho in Lefkada Island
Due to geographical conditions the area of Vlicho is quite long and narrow, the village only has a few streets. On the main street, which leads between the houses and the shallow lagoon of Lefkada, there can be find local restaurants, a mini market and a bakery.
Beside the road there is a roadwalk for pedestrians, which connects to each other the tourist facilites. On the southern side of Vlicho was built a small playground with swings and climbing frames for children.
Vlicho is known well from its ship repair facilities, which were built betweeen the village and Nidri. If you drive through the village, next to the bay you can see dozens of boats which are under construction. Next to the road there is a port for smaller and larger boats.
Due to the boat repair activities the bay of Vlicho is not recommended for a swim, and there are no organized beaches at all. The sea is usually contiminated with oil and other dark-coloured lubricants here, and the shallow water of Vlicho bay refreshes slowly.
The nearest best beaches from Vlicho, which are recommended for a swim or for a snorkel in Lefkada Island are Desimi beach 3 kilometers away, Nidri beach 6 kilometers away, and Mikros Gialos beach approx. 10 kilometers away.
There are two petrol stations of Lefkada near Vlycho, in its north and in its southern sides both. In the direction of Nidri there can be find a car wash for vehicles.
The best sights near Vlicho are situated in Nidri, where the picturesque port with charming seaside promenade can be visited. In the outskirts of Nidri travellers can hike to the famous waterfalls of Lefkada Island, known as Dimosari Waterfalls.
