Both villages are located about 7 kilometers away, making the access of this village super fast and very easy. The main road which connect Tsoukalades to the other villages is quite wide, where not difficult to drive.
What you should know about Tsoukalades in Lefkada
The village is situated in the hills, but Tsoukalades is not as mountanious as a lot of other villages of the island, such as Kalamitsi or Athani. The main road leads through the village, where most of the local restaurants, supermarkets and apartments were built. The central areas next to the main road are dedicated for tourism, but the old village where the locals live is situated on the north side, slightly away from the traffic.
Tsoukalades has everything, which can be important on a holiday: travellers can find here bakery with fresh pastries and snacks, coffee bars, restaurants, supermarkets, ATM and pharmacy. For free parking in the village just pull over to the side of the road, there are no paid parking lots. According the guests the best restaurants in Tsoukalades are Psaropoula tavern with its nice garden and Ταβερνα Κάμπος. For snacks and for a morning coffee we recommend Irene’s Bakery And Coffee Shop, where the staff is friendly and desserts are delicious.
Due geographical conditions the village has no direct sea exit, but the west coast is just a few kilometers away, and can be reached easy. The streets of Tsoukalades are surrounded by olive groves and pine forests, so if you like lush vegetation, the area of this village is definitely green.
Tsoukalades beach
The nearest beach to the village is situated 3 kilometers from the central areas, and known as Tsoukalades beach or some maps mention it as Gialou Skala beach. The beach can be reached on a narrow and winding road from the center: the distance to Tsoukalades beach is 3 kilometeres, so it’s worth to know that a car or a motorcycle is useful. The coast is unorganized, where pebbles and rocks can be find.
The best attractions of the area are the famous west coast beaches, which are near: Pefkoulia beach is located 3 kilometers away, offer long and wide coast with a beach bar. We must mention in Agios Nikitas the local beach 7 kilometers away from Tsoukalades, and of course the breathtaking Mylos beach, which can be reached by hiking or by taxi boats. One of the best beaches in Lefkada, Kathisma beach is also near, just 9 kilometers away, where a lot of restaurants, paragliding options and dozens of parasols and sunbeds are.
