Where to find Afteli beach in Lefkada island, location and how to get there

This small hidden gem can be accessed from the main road, which leads on the east coast between Nidri and Vasiliki. When you are watching the road signs near Marantochori village, you will see the sign which indicate Evgiros, this is where you must leave the main road. After a few minutes just drive through Evgiros village, which is a small settlement on the hills.

Road conditions and driving to Afteli beach through Evgiros

After leaving Evgiros you have to drive approx. 2 kilometers until you reach Afteli beach. While driving on this road you have to pay attention, because the road is quite narrow on the last section, there can be find some hairpin bends as well.

It’s worth to know that local boat trips or public buses don’t arrive to Afteli beach in Lefkada Island, and boat trips also avoid this bay, so it can be accessed only by cars or by motorcycles. At the end of the asphalt road there was built small parking lot, which is free to use. The parking lot is quite small, it can be used just by a few cars.

Behind the sea a local tavern is waiting for its guests, which is known simply as Afteli beach bar restaurant. The umbrellas and sunbeds belong to the restaurant, and they can be rented.

The Ionian Sea is quite shallow here, Afteli beach has one of the most shallow waters in Lefkada Island. The surface of the sea is calm at most of the time, so these conditions make this place great for families with smaller children. Sea temperatures are pleasant, the east coastline of Lefkada is much less influenced by cooler sea currents.
